:: Flute Repair: Troubleshooting, Basic Repair & Maintenance for Flutists ::

Sherry Lee, CO

Sherry Lee of Lee's Woodwinds teaches this hands-on course for teachers and technicians. The morning class, Level 1, covers basics; the afternoon class, Level 2, is for people who have taken Level 1 or those who have taken the course in previous years. It will be a fun and somewhat technical look at basic “care & feeding” of flutes, plus the dos and don’ts of buying a new flute for both students and pros. The course includes identifying which problems you can easily fix and which ones to refer to a technician, play testing, and a discussion and exhibit of materials. An elementary playing knowledge of the flute is required. Bring a flute (that you are not presently playing!) to work on. Upon registration, you will receive a short list of affordable basic tools to be purchased before attending. Level 1 needs no prior technical knowledge. Level 2, though slightly more advanced, is still geared toward teachers, not technicians in the flute repair profession.

Sunday, June 15 8 AM - noon;

Level 2: 4 hours:
Sunday, June 15 1:30 - 5:30 PM

Many children do not realize that they have choice in their emotional responses, and parents may be unfamiliar with specific ways to coach their children in how to choose effective emotional reactions in everyday situations.
